about

Born and raised in Fort Worth, TX, I have been been married for 14 years to Lena and have 3 children: Logan, Izabel, and Lola... and our Alaskan Malamute, Maverick. They keep me plenty busy. Like myself, Logan is obsessed with sports and drawing. He even writes and illustrates his own sports books. Izabel is beautiful like her mom, but has her daddy's energy. She is extremely creative and has a talent for entertaining people. Lola is a daddy's girl and keeps a smile on my face. Lena teaches Pre-K at Ikard Elementary. Currently, I teach Art 1, Art 2, and Graphic Design at Weatherford High School.
I graduated from Haltom High School where I played football, baseball, ran track and wrestled. While first attending college, I planned on being an art teacher. Life, however, led me in a different direction. I changed my major to business and nearly had to start over. After obtaining a degree in business from Northwood University and spending 6 years as an investment consultant, I wanted to get back to my real passion and have a meaningful impact on young people. I had many great teachers throughout my time in school that helped influence my decision to be a teacher.

I am currently working on my Master of Art Education (MAE) Degree at Texas Tech University and plan on graduating in July of  2021. In my little free time, I try to stay active in such activities as Crossfit, mud runs and coaching my son's baseball team. I am an avid hunter, fisherman, and fan of nearly every activity that involves the outdoors.

In my professional life, I wear many hats. As an artist I enjoy nearly all forms of art making, especially mixed media and anything experimental. Photography is finding its way into my work more and more. I rarely use it as its own media, but rather like to think of photography as another one of my tools. I am also an entrepreneur. Along with a few other close friends, we started an online t-shirt company. We serve the DFW area in creating original designs that celebrate anything pop culture and our hometown sports teams. Red Peg Tees launched in 2017 with our first Red Peg shirt celebrating the great Dirk Nowitzki reaching his 30,000 point milestone.
